What is leadership, and how do you act out of unity despite the differences?

We gathered at Beit Hatfutsot (The Museum of the Jewish People) for a fascinating panel on leadership, vision, and influence with Miriam Peretz, Ruth Gavison, Yael Arad, and Yaakov Ahimeir, who lead change in the public sphere through constant action and continuously contribute to shaping the face of Israeli society. Hila Korach, the journalist and member of the forum, led the discussion on what leadership is and how to deal with the challenges of the diverse Israeli society, which is made up of different groups with different ideologies and in which there are so many disputes. We learned that a leader should work according to a vision, get to know the people, give them a goal, and explain to them why they are following a certain path, that everyone has the power to influence as part of a community, and that it is possible to connect to the great common cause even when there are disagreements, by seeing the commonality in the other instead of seeing the difference.
